Peterman Runs Away with Monroe Invitational Title

Kyle Peterman of Sherman, IL cruises home with a five-shot win over Cam Burke of Canada

PITTSFORD, NY (June 19, 2010)--Kyle Peterman of Sherman, IL cruised home with a five-shot win in the Monroe Invitational, closing with a 2-over 72 to finish at 11-under-par 269.

Starting the day with a three-shot lead, Peterman managed to extend his lead despite not recording a single birdie in his final round. His closest pursuer, Justin Shin of Canada, faded with a 75 and ultimately finished third behind fellow Canadian Cam Burke.

Peterman's biggest previous accomplishment as an amateur was qualifying for the 2009 U.S. Open Championship at Bethpage State Park.
