Cole Madey and James Beale both won a pair of matches Thursday to advance to the championship match

PULLMAN, Wash. (July 10, 2014) -- Cole Madey and James Beale both won a pair of matches Thursday to advance to the championship match at the 2014 Pacific Northwest Amateur at Palouse Ridge Golf Club. Madey, the bracket's No. 4 seed, knocked off No. 28 Charles Kern in the morning quarterfinals, winning in 20 holes before beating Derek Bayley in the semifinals, 3 and 2. The victories set up a 36-hole championship match against Beale, who beat No. 6 Conner Kumpula in 19 holes before defeating No. 7 Dylan Wu in the afternoon semifinal to advance.
