Pacific Northwest Amateur: Australian Brandt-Richards leads

Australian Dale Richards-Brandt shot a 6-under 64 to take the first-round-lead at the Pacific Northwest Amateur Championship

PULLMAN, Wash. (July 6, 2014) -- Australian Dale Richards-Brandt shot a 6-under 64 to take the first-round-lead at the Pacific Northwest Amateur Championship. At Palouse Ridge Golf Club, Brandt-Richards holds the lead entering the second round over a loaded leaderboard. Dylan Wu, an incoming freshman at Northwestern, fired an opening-round 5-under 65 and sits alone in second place. Tied for third is recent Mercer graduate and former Oregon Open champion Hans Reimers, who shot 4-under 66. Reimers is tied alongside Conner Kumpula in second place. Matthew Ashley, Tom Swanson and Cory Crawford, who hails from Australia, are just three shots back after wrapping up their first rounds. The PNGA Amateur features 36 holes of stroke-play qualifying followed by a 64-player match-play event.
