Olkowski opened the event with rounds of shot 71-67. He made a three-and-a-half foot putt for bogey on No. 18 for the win after Carlon put the pressure on him with a birdie of his own. Olkowski navigated a difficult greenside bunker shot to safely allow two putts for the win.
This is Olkowski’s second big win in four months after being co-medalist in September’s Mark Simpson Colorado Invitational. With the win, he also was the 2018-19 Troon Saguaro Amateur Series Champion for his combined play in the Sizzler Amateur, Gobbler Amateur, and the Saguaro Amateur. The winning putt from @trev17olko pic.twitter.com/0gsOqHtNkX
