Oklahoma State grabs second-round lead at SH Collegiate Masters

Led by redshirt sophomore Wyndham Clark's opening rounds of 68 and 69, the Cowboys took over the lead from Texas

LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Oklahoma State shot 10-under on day two of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters to overtake Texas for the lead, which they hold by two shots over the Longhorns. Redshirt sophomore Wyndham Clark leads the Cowboys with rounds of 68 and 69, while redshirt freshman Brendon Jelley posted 67 after opening with 74. Texas is fresh off a win at the John Hayt Collegiate, where sophomore Beau Hossler grabbed his first individual collegiate win. Former U.S. Junior Amateur winner Scottie Scheffler led the Longhorns after Monday's round, but Hossler posted 68 on Tuesday and is now tied for sixth individually. UNLV individual Redford Bobbitt and Alabama sophomore Robby Shelton lead the player race at eight-under 136. Texas is just two strokes back of their in-state rival in third while USC is ten back of Texas in third place. The tournament is likely the most elite collegiate invitational of the 2014-2015 season leading up to the NCAA Championship in May as all 15 teams are inside of the top-50 in Golfweek's college rankings.
