New Year's Invitational: Garland Green wins in playoff

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (Jan. 8, 2012) -- Garland Green captured the 2012 New Year's Invitational with a par on the sixth playoff hole at St. Petersburg Country Club. Green had shot a 1-under 71 to finish with a four-day total of 278 --- along with second and third-round leader Stephan Jaegar and Jim Liu.Liu was eliminated on the first playoff hole. Liu fired a 2-under 70 to join the playoff. Brandon Rodgers shot a 6-under 66 in the final round, finishing in a three-way tie for fourth place along with michael Hebert and Michael McGowan.
