RALEIGH, N.C. (May 17, 2014) -- Ollie Schniederhans may not have won the individual title, but his solid play powered Georgia Tech to a dominant win at the NCAA Men's Golf East Regional at N.C. State's Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
Schniederjans shot rounds of 66-68-72 to finish three shots back of individual champ Jonathan Sanders of Washington. It was Georgia Tech's impressive depth, however, that won it the regional crown.
Seth Reeves (69-69-69), Bo Andrews (67-68-74) and Anders Alberston (73-67-71) all finished inside the Top 10. The Yellow Jackets' fifth player, Richy Werenski, shot an opening-round 66 to hold the early lead and finished 15th.
Washington was a distant second, finishing 18 shots off the pace. Sanders shot 68-67-68 to win medalist. Cheng-Tsung Pan (72-70-71) and Trevor Simsby (68-69-77) also logged Top 15 finishes.
Texas A&M was third while Kentucky and Florida State rounded out the Top 5.
