JOHNSTOWN, Penn. (June 16, 2012) -- The groundwork has been laid for a Sunday shootout at the Sunnehanna Amateur. Through three rounds of the prestigious amateur event at Sunnehanna Country Club, three players are tied for the lead with six more lurking within four shots. The trio of Penn State’s Mike Miller, Sebastian Vazquez and Alabama’s Bobby Wyatt hold a share of the lead after Saturday’s third round after rounds of 66, 67 and 68, respectively. All three are at 7-under 203. Meanwhile, Golfweek’s Player of the Year Justin Thomas, also of Alabama, is only one shot back. Thomas bogeyed the final hole at Sunnehanna to fall behind. The round of the day on Saturday belonged to Florida’s Tyler McCumber, who recently finished in a share of second in the stroke-play portion of the NCAA Championship. McCumber shot 5-under 65. That round included a front-nine 31, and only one bogey on the back, at the par-3 14th. Georgia’s Nicholas Reach and another Alabama player, Cory Whitsett, also are tied for fifth with McCumber. Those three players are at 4-under 206.
