Match play field set at Maryland State Amateur

Walter Egloff and Christopher Navarro tied for low medalist honors during stroke-play qualifying

Lutherville Timonium, Md. (June 5, 2014) -- Walter Egloff and Christopher Navarro tied for low medalist honors during stroke-play qualifying at the 2014 Maryland State Amateur Championship at Baltimore Country Club's East Course. The pair shot 3-under 67 and will serve as the Nos. 2 and 3 seeds when match play begins Friday. Defending champion and University of Virginia standout Denny McCarthy is the bracket's top seed. McCarthy, a rising star, was named to the Ben Hogan Award watch list earlier this season and recently finished sixth at the 2014 NCAA Championship.
