Ludvig Aberg and Texas Tech off to a fast start at Valspar Intercollegiate

Red Raiders and AmateurGolf.com's No. 1 world-ranked player will take three shot leads into Tuesday's final round at the Floridian

Fourth-ranked Texas Tech got off to a fast start on Monday at the Valspar Intercollegiate being held at the Floridian National Golf Club in Palm City.

After shooting 9-under in the morning, the Red Raiders improved by two strokes in their afternoon round and at 18-under 550, will take a three-stroke lead over third-ranked North Carolina heading into Tuesday's final round.

Florida State is eight back at 10-under while defending champion Pepperdine is well off the pace at 4-over 572.

After rounds of 65 and 67, Texas Tech's Ludvig Aberg took his familiar spot atop the leaderboard at 10-under 132. He is three strokes clear of Wolfgang Glawe of Houston, North Carolina's David Ford and Ben Carr of Georgia Southern, who all sit at 7-under 135.

If Aberg manages to hang on, it would be his sixth overall individual victory which would tie him for the all-time mark in program history with former Red Raider Clement Sordet who won six times in 52 starts. Aberg is making just his 34th start this week.

Aberg has some company in the top-10 where teammates Tyran Snyders (-6) and Calum Scott (-5) and tied for fifth and eighth, respectively.

The Valspar Intercollegiate wraps up on Tuesday at the Floridian.
