Justin Clement wins inaugural CCNC Amateur

Clement, who also won the 2012 Cardinal Amateur, fired a final-round 69 for the win

PINEHURST, N.C. (Dec. 20, 2012) -- Justin Clement, who won the 2012 Cardinal Amateur, has added a second marquee title to his resume by taking home top prize at the Inaugural Country Club of North Carolina Amateur. At the CCNC's Dogwood Course, Clement fired a final-round 69 to edge the field and runner-up Patrick Barrett by three shots. Clement fired rounds of 74-72-69--215 --- three shots better than Barrett, of UNC Chapel Hill. Ben Fogler of Vanderbilt was third at 74-73-72--219. The inaugural Country Club of North Carolina Amateur is a 54-hole stroke play event with no cut presented by the Tarheel Golf Foundation. The event was contested on the CCNC's Dogwood Course, which has hosted many CGA and USGA events. The top 12 finishers of the event earned a round at nearby Pinehurst No. 2.
