Jones Cup Invitational: Manav Shah leads

SEA ISLAND, Georgia (Feb. 4, 2012) -- Manav Shaw of Bakersfield, Calif., catapulted into the lead after two rounds of play at the 2012 Jones Cup Invitational at Ocean Forest Golf Club. Shah, a sophomore at the UCLA, was one shot back after Friday's first round but fired a 1-under 71 in Saturday's second round and holds a three-shot lead over Curtis Thompson of Orlando, Fla. Thompson, a junior at LSU and the reigning Dixie Amateur champion, struggled in the second round, shooting a 3-over, 75. Michael Hebert (Orlando, Fla.) and Kevin Phelan (St. Augustine, Fla.) are tied for third place at 2-over. The final round of the 54-hole invitational will be played Sunday.
