By Andy Zunz, Golfweek PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. (Feb. 25, 2014) -- Mother Nature took over at the first round of The John Hayt Collegiate Invitational, but it was Coastal Carolina and Oklahoma State sitting atop the leaderboard when darkness set in. The tournament, which is held at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponta Vedra Beach, Fla., was delayed four hours due to rain around noon Sunday. Teams resumed play around 4 p.m., but were unable to finish 18 holes when the sun set. The first teams to tee off made it to hole No. 16, and the last teams made it to No. 5. Oklahoma State and Coastal Carolina are at 5 under par, with the Cowboys on the 12th through 16th holes and the Chanticleers at No. 8-10. Host North Florida (1-over), Central Florida (2-over), Tulsa and Liberty (3-over) round out the top five. Alabama-Birmingham's Sam Love leads all individuals through nine holes at 4-under, but Oklahoma State's Zachary Olsen leads a pack of players at one back. He's made it through 16. The tournament is scheduled to host 54 holes through Tuesday.
