Jeff Knox wins the Crump Cup

Jeff Knox defeated two-time champion Michael Muehr in the finals

PINE VALLEY, NJ (September 25, 2016) -- Crump Cup champion Jeff Knox will be dreaming about 1 up final scores for at least a month. Knox played four matches this weekend at Pine Valley Golf Club and he won all four by the same 1 up margin.

Following a pair of wins on Saturday over Andrew Price and Danny Simmerman; Knox handled two-time champion and 2016 U.S. Mid-Amateur co-medalist Michael Muehr in his Sunday morning semifinal match.

Knox, a member of Augusta National Golf Club, completed his run to the title with one last 1 up win over John Sawin. Over the years Knox has played in a number of Masters as a spotter and has played with the likes of four-time major champion winner Rory McIlroy.

Sawin reached the finals thanks to a 2&1 semifinal victory over Jeff Osberg.

In the Senior Division it was Jim Lehman capturing the title 1 up over Tommy Brennan. Lehman advanced to the title match following a 27- hole marathon semifinal match against John Pate.

Brennan made his way to the finals with a 3&1 win over Alan Fadel, who upset medalist Pat Tallent in the first round of match play.
