Jackson T. Stephens Cup: Florida State men, Texas women lead after Day One

In the individual competition, Gray Albright of Florida State leads the men and Adela Cernousek of Texas A&M leads the women.

After one day of the Jackson T. Stephens Cup at Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, Tex., the Florida State men have put themselves in a great position.

Led by Gray Albright, the Seminoles shot 36-under through the first round and 15 holes of the second round. The end of the second round was halted late in the second round due to darkness.

In the seven-team field, FSU currently has a 10-stroke lead over second-place SMU, who sit at 26-under. San Diego State is in third place at 24-under, LSU is in fourth place at 22-under, and Arizona is in fifth place at 20-under.

Albright is 10-under through the first two rounds, as he was able to finish his second round before the darkness hit.

Just one shot behind Albright is Tyler Kowack of San Diego State, Tiger Christensen of Arizona, and Cole Anderson of Florida State. All three of them are T2 and are 9-under.

Brett Roberts of Florida State and Connor Gaunt of LSU are T5 at 8-under. Gaunt led after round one with a round of 8-under 64, but was even par through 13 holes in the second round.

Five golfers are T7 at 7-under.

On the women's side, Texas leads the team competition by three shots after a second round 12-under 276. The Longhorns are 16-under total.

South Carolina, Stanford, and Wake Forest are all T2 at 13-under and will look to close the gap on the Longhorns.

In the individual competition, Adela Cernousek of Texas A&M is in first place at 9-under, two shot clear of Lauren Kim of Duke, who is in solo second place at 7-under.

Cernousek is only 11 holes into her second round, and she is already 5-under through those 11 holes.
