J.R. Williams Four-Ball wraps up

It was a Georgia Sweep as Dave Poteet/Mike Cromer and Lee Dennis/Mel Mendenhall won titles at Oak Hill

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Sept. 21, 2013) -- It was a Georgia Sweep as Dave Poteet and Mike Cromer won the Mid-Am while Lee Dennis and Mel Mendenhall won the Senior flight. Poteet (Suwanee, GA) and Cromer (Norcross, GA) won the 2013 John R. Williams Four-Ball Tournament at Oak Hill Country Club by two strokes over Don Padgett and Dan Belden (Arkon, OH). Poteet and Cromer finished with a three-day total of five-under par 205. Both teams finished under par in the final round on the rain-soaked East Course with 69 and 68 respectively. Oak Hill's Shawn Baker and Davidde Giordano (West Palm Beach, FL) finished third with a total of 211. Dennis (Comer, GA) and Mendenhall (Marietta, GA) won the Senior Division for the first time, holding off Larry Cooper (Oakville, ONT, CA) and Rick Dobbs-Hebron (Brampton, ONT, CA) by two shots with a three-day total of two-over par 215. Dennis and Mendenhall began the day in a three-way tie for the lead at even par and survived the rainy conditions to come away with the victory.
