DOLLYMOUNT, Dublin (May 11, 2014) -- Jamie Savage (Scotland) captured the Irish Amateur Open Championship at The Royal Dublin Golf Club after finishing on level par. He finished two shots clear of a quartet of players that included Irish Close champion Cormac Sharvin and the long time leader Gary McDermott from Carton House. Savage's final round of 71 featured an impressive level par back nine, and gives the Scot his first major international win. The 19 year old, from Cawder Golf Club near Glasgow is coached by Stewart Savage - his father - who is professional at Dalmuir golf club.
