HOUSTON, Tex. (Oct. 11, 2013) -- Mike Booker of The Woodlands fired a 6-under-par 66 to claim a 4-shot lead after the first round of the Greater Houston Senior Men's City Amateur at Memorial Park Golf Course.
Booker, 2012 runner-up, started his round with four straight birdies and added three more to offset his lone bogey. Hill Adams of Houston and David Leiss each shot 70, 2009 champion Hunter Nelson and Steve Moran shot 71. Defending champion Gary Durbin of Houston headed a group of five players at even-par 72.
Don Fanning of Houston shot 71 to lead the Super Senior Division for golfers 65 and older.
