Hickman completes dominant run at Eastern Amateur

Christopher Hickman put on a terrific display of golf during the event's four days, shooting rounds of 61-64-65-68 to finish at 22-under and earn a dominant victory

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (July 13, 2014) -- Christopher Hickman shot a final-round 68 Sunday and ran away with the 2014 Eastern Amateur title, winning by eight shots at Elizabeth Manor Golf & Country Club. Hickman put on a terrific display of golf during the event's four days, shooting rounds of 61-64-65-68 to finish at 22-under and earn a dominant victory. He was eight shots ahead of UNC Charlotte's Riley Davenport, who shot 65-65-67-69 to finish at 14-under. Adam Ball, Derek Bard and Christopher Crawford all finished at 10-under 270 and tied for third. The Eastern Amateur is one of the summer's most historic events and is played at the par-70 Dick Wilson golf course. The Eastern boasts an impressive list of past winners, including Curtis Strange, Ben Crenshaw, Vinny Giles and Lanny Wadkins.
