Harbin beats Kelly in Southeastern Am playoff

Dykes Harbin and Sean Kelly finished regulation at 6-under before playing off for the title.

COLUMBUS, Georgia (June 16, 2012) -- Dykes Harbin emerged from a playoff on Saturday with the Southeastern Amateur title. The South Carolina senior defeated Sean Kelly to earn a victory at the Country Club of Columbus in Columbus, Ga. Harbin, of Augusta, Ga., and Kelly, of Bradenton, Fla., finished regulation at 6-under 282 before playing off for the title. Mookie DeMoss made a run at the top of the leaderboard during the final round, carding a 4-under 68 that was the best round of the day. He fell one shot short of the playoff and finished in a tie for third with Sepp Straka, a University of Georgia sophomore. Keith Mitchell was solo fifth at 4-under 284 and two other players, Clark Palmer and Tommy Mou, finished T-6 another shot back.
