Guthrie (-11) leads Dogwood at halfway mark

ATLANTA, Georgia (June 30, 2011) -- University of Illinois golfer Luke Guthrie is back to his under-par ways, taking the 36-hole lead at the Dogwood Invitational in Atlanta. Guthrie, who last week fired a record-setting 61 to lead the Northeast Invitational after the first round (he finished 13th), followed his 4-under 68 in round one with a 7-under 65 on Thursday. He is trailed by one stroke by University of Iowa State golfer Nate McCoy (66-68). A trio of golfers at 8-under includes Vince India, Michael Kim, and recent winner of the Southeastern Invitational (June 18), Seth Reeves.
