Jack Goldasich of Birmingham was the top brother, despite entering the final round three shots off the lead. Goldasich fired a bogey-free 6-under 66 that vaulted him to 9 under, good for a two-shot win on his younger brother, Ford.
Third-round leader Will McFadden of Mobile slipped to a tie for third with Austin Coggin of Birmingham. Both men were 6 under for the week.
Defending champion, Matt Lorenz of Fairhope posted a 3-over 75 to finish in a tie for 29th at 6-over 293.
THIRD-ROUND RECAP
Will McFadden of Mobile, Ala., carded an even-par 72 at Turtle Point Yacht & Country Club in Killen, Ala., to stand atop the leaderboard at 6-under 209. McFadden is one stroke ahead of Rob Richards of Haleyville.
Trent Alexander of Athens, the 36-hole leader, carded a 3-over 75 to fall into a tie for third place with Austin Coggin of Vestavia Hills at 4-under 211.
The course returned to a par-72 layout Saturday. The 435-yard par-4 sixth hole played as a 182-yard par 3 on Friday due to unplayable conditions on that hole’s landing zone which changed the course from its traditional par 72 layout to a par 71.
Today’s field was comprised of the low 60 players and ties from the first two rounds. The cut line fell at 6-over 149 with 64 players remaining in weekend play.
