Georgia Breaks Through at Cabo Collegiate

Seniors Lee McCoy and Sepp Straka led Bulldogs to their first victory of the 2015-16 season.

SAN JOSE DEL CABO, Mexico -- The Georgia Bulldogs captured their first victory of the 2015-16 season by a 10-shot margin over South Florida. A 1-over par 285 final-round was plenty enough to secure the title as the 2nd round 268 (16-under) gave the Bulldogs a large cushion to work with. Senior Lee McCoy led the team in scoring with three consecutive rounds in the 60's and a tied 2nd finish.Senior Sepp Straka also played exceptionally well highlighted by a 2nd round 65 which led to a 6th place individual finish. The individual title was captured by South Florida's Aksel Olsen who finished at 9-under par, one shot ahead of McCoy, Arkansas's Taylor Moore, and Cal Berkeley's Collin Morikawa. Stanford's Maverick McNealy climbed back after an opening round 75 with rounds of 65 and 70 to sneak into the top 10.
