TAMPA, FL (February 24, 2017) -- The last time a player won consecutive Gasparilla Invitational's was in 2009 and 2010 when five-time champion Peter Dachisen accomplished the feat for a second time. Tomorrow Nicholas Mullhaupt will look to become the sixth different player to accomplish the feat.

Starting the second round at Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club within one shot of the lead Mullhaupt, who upset Scott Harvey in a playoff last year, turned in a second straight 2-under 68 to move to 4-under and two shots in front of Kyle Stiles and Mike Finster.

On Friday Mullhaupt poured in three birdies and just one bogey. The birdies for Mullhaupt came on the second, sixth and 18th holes.
