Fox leads at New York State Amateur

Play was suspended due to darkness, but the leader in the clubhouse is Victor Fox at four-under par 68

LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. (July 23, 2013) — Soon-to-be University of Maryland golfer Victor Fox leads the New York State Amateur after day one at Schuyler Meadows Club. Though play was suspended due to darkness, Fox's opening-round 68 leads those who have finished play by two strokes. Fox, who will be a Maryland Terrapin golfer in the fall, qualified for the 2013 U.S. Open at Merion and has played in two U.S. Junior Amateurs. Trevor Sluman of Oak Hill Country Club has the second lowest round to begin the 91st annual event at two-under par 70.
