SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (June 25, 2015) – Four golfers remain at the 104th Michigan Amateur hosted by Plum Hollow Country Club. Austin Jenner had perhaps the toughest task in his quarterfinal match against defending champion Henry Do. The 17-year old was up to the task, however, beating Do on the 17th hole, 2-and-1.
Jenner will face #44 seed Ryan Johnson from New Boston who advanced via a 3-and-1 victory in his quarterfinal match. On the other side of the bracket, Brett Quitiquit of Highland upset the #2 seed Otto Black 2-and-1. Quitiquit will face the highest remaining seed left in the field (#6), Kory Roberts.
Roberts, of Battle Creek, shot 73, 67 in the stroke play portion and has clearly taken that momentum all through to the semifinals, winning 1 up in the quarterfinals. Semifinals will begin Friday morning and will be directly followed by the championship match in the afternoon.
