Florida Azalea Amateur: Dillon Board Comes From Behind to Win

Dillon Board emerges victorious at Florida Azalea Amateur with final day 7-under par 63

PALATKA, FL (March 20, 2016)--Dillon Board (-7) spent much of the first two rounds of the Florida Azalea Amateur just hanging around. On Friday Board posted an even-par 70, a score he matched on Saturday to sit five back entering the final round at Palatka Golf Club. On Sunday it was a different story for Board, the Jacksonville, FL resident swung his way to a 7-under par, bogey-free 63 to win by three. It was the first amateur win for Board, a junior at Coastal Georgia. First round leader, Jackson Stroup (-4) of Naples, FL finished in second place. It was an up and down three days for Stroup who went 65, 72, 69. Daniel Brennan (Shannon, Ireland) and Baptiste Mory (Quebec) tied for third place at 3-under par. Second round leader Russell Bowie (Mississauga, Ont.) tied for fifth with Matt Williams (Calgary, CAN) after a final 3-over par 73.
