Constable wins North and South

No. 31 seed Donald Constable defeats Kelly Kraft

PINEHURST, North Carolina (July 3, 2010) -- It took 33 holes on Saturday for Donald Constable to win the 110th North & South Amateur Championship. But it could have been over much quicker -- his opponent in the 36-hole championship match, Kelly Kraft, didn't go down without a fight. The 31st seeded Constable jumped out to an 8-up lead through 25 holes and literally held on for a 4 and 3 win. The lefthander's round included three birdies and two eagles, one apiece on the par-5 16th and the par-5 22nd. - story courtesy Patrick Love, for The Pilot
