Champions Cup: Ingram, McGlohn hold on for win

Jeffrey Ingram and Judd McGlohn go wire-to-wire, finishing with two-stroke win

HOUSTON, Texas (April 19, 2008)--The duo of Jeffrey Ingram and Judd McGlohn carded a 69 on Saturday, their highest round in four days of play at the 41st annual Champions Cup Invitational, but it was still enough to take home a two-stroke victory over Rod Baronet and Robby McWilliams.

The victors, who are members at the Champions Club, led or were tied for the lead throughout the entire tourney, going 66-66-67-69--268, 16-under par.

Two-time defending champions Andy Cooper and Sandy Pierce couldn't pull off the threepeat, finishing tied with two other squads for 11th at 6-under-par 278.

"This is the Masters for our club," McGlohn told the Houston Chronicle after the event. "I'm very honored to win the biggest tournament that we have. I don't think there's another two-man, four-ball, 72-hole event in the country like this one, and I'll tell you that that golf course is championship-caliber."
