Bullington has one-shot lead at Canadian Amateur after one round

Brian Bullington leads a talented field after one round

WINNIPEG, Canada (August 4, 2014) — Brian Bullington of Frankfort, Ill. was on the course early this morning and fired a 66, pacing the talented field by a single stroke after one round at the Canadian Amateur. Three players sit just one shot behind Bullington at five-under, including Canadians Josh Wytinck and Garrett Rank, and Colombia's second-highest ranked amateur Ricardo Celia. Canada's top-ranked golfer Corey Conners is two back at 68 and is among four other players tied for fifth. Conners was last year's runner-up at the Canadian Amateur, as well as a semi-finalist at the 2013 U.S. Men’s Amateur. Some of the top male golfers from across the world, including Australia, Colombia, New Zealand, Taiwan, Canada, and the United States, will compete at the Canadian Amateur Championship beginning Monday. Two courses, Elmhurst Golf and Country Club and Southwood Golf and Country Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba will host the event. Stakes are high as the winner will receive exemptions into both the PGA TOUR's RBC Canadian Open in 2015 at Glen Abbey Golf Club, as well as the 2014 U.S. Amateur Championship. And, if applicable, the winner would be eligible to earn exemptions into the U.S. Junior Amateur, U.S. Mid-Amateur and the USGA Senior Amateur Championship.
