PORTRUSH, Ireland (June 17, 2014) -- Play has
been suspended for the
day in the Amateur Championship at Royal
Portrush and Portstewart due
to persistent fog.
Play will resume at both courses at 7.30am on
Wednesday 18 June.
Competitors who have commenced their
second round and have
discontinued play due to the suspension are
required to report to their
assigned venue for a roll call at 7.00am. Both
clubhouses and practice
grounds will be open at 6.00am.
Only limited play was possible this morning
before thick fog enveloped
both courses. This resulted in an eight hour
thirteen minute delay at
Royal Portrush and a four and a half hour delay
at Portstewart. Play
resumed at both courses but was subject to
further suspensions
throughout the afternoon. -Report Courtesy of
