Aztec junior Brian Song fired 66 and 70 in the last two rounds as his San Diego State team defeated host St. Mary's by four

PEBBLE BEACH, Calif. — San Diego State junior Brian Song fired 66 and 70 in the last two rounds as his Aztec team defeated host St. Mary's College by four at the St. Mary's Invitational, played at Poppy Hills Golf Course. Song finished tied for fourth place individually, four back of winner Sean Walsh of Gonzaga, who was victorious this summer at the North & South Amateur in Pinehurst, N.C. The Gaels led through the first round by eight over the Aztecs, but the eventual winning squad matched the Gaels' opening round score of 5-under 279 in the second round. Meanwhile, St. Mary's struggled on day two, posting 10-over and falling seven behind SDSU. The Aztecs received two more top-10 finishes, from Italian senior Riccardo Michelini and fellow fourth-year man Ryann Ree, who carded 69 for the team's lowest score of the final day.
