Big 12: Texas Tech rises as Texas falls

The Longhorns, who led after Round 1, shot 7-over on Saturday, leaving room for Texas Tech to slide into the top spot entering Sunday's final round

TRINITY, Tx. (April 26, 2014) -- Texas' slip allowed Texas Tech to climb on Day 2 of the 2014 Big 12 Men's Golf Championship at Whispering Pines. The Longhorns, who led after Round 1, shot 7-over on Saturday, leaving room for Texas Tech to slide into the top spot entering Sunday's final round. Texas recorded 16 bogeys Saturday with Beau Hossler, Kramer Hickock and Toni Hakula all falling off their torrid play from Friday. For Texas Tech, Clement Sordet shot a 70 while Henry Todd shot 69 to lead the way. Iow State sits 17 shots back of Texas Tech in what seems to be a two-team race in Sunday's finale.
