Big 10: Iowa Leads After Round 1

Chris Brant fired a 5-under 67 to lead Iowa to a 1-under total score

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (April 29, 2011) -- Iowa shot a 1-over 289 to lead the way through the first round of the Big Ten Men's Golf Championships on Friday at Purdue's Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. Led by individual leader Chris Brant's 5-under 67 in round one, the Hawkeyes hold a four-shot lead entering the second round. Brant has a two-stroke lead over Illinois' Scott Langley, who fired a 3-under 69 in the first round. The second round is slated for Friday afternoon, with round three following on Saturday and the final round taking place on Sunday.
