WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (April 30, 2011) -- Illinois remains in front through three rounds at the Big Ten Men's Golf Championships at Purdue's Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The Illini sit at 15-over through 54 holes and own a 15-stroke lead over the field. Iowa (+30) maintains its second-place standing while Indiana and Northwestern (+34) are tied for third entering Sunday's final round.
Illinois' Luke Guthrie climbed to the top of the individual leaderboard after the third round, shooting a 2-over 74 in Saturday's round to take the lead. Guthrie is at 1-over through 54 holes, followed by Iowa's Chris Brant (+2) in second and Indiana's David Erdy and Penn State's Jay Woodward (+3) in a tie for third.
The low rounds of the day belonged to Illinois' Chris DeForest and Northwestern's David Lipsky, who each shot an even-par 72.
The final round of the Big Ten Men's Golf Championships will begin at 8 a.m. ET on Sunday with tee times concluding at approximately 9:30.
