Austin City Championship: Noonan wins his 2nd

Brian Noonan wins back-to-back titles with even-par final round

AUSTIN, Texas (Aug. 5, 2007)-- LSU senior Brian Noonan became only the seventh golfer in the 80-year history of the Austin City Championship to win back-to-back titles with his even-par final day in gusty conditions at the Roy Kizer Golf Course. He finished at 11-under-par 274, good for a three stroke victory over Michael Cooper, who won the tourney in 2000 and 2003. Noonan, who held off Robby Ormand in a playoff to take last year's title, took the tournament twice in a row for the first time since Ed Brooks completed the feat in 1992-93. Top finishers follow: -- 274 -- Brian Noonan -- 277 -- Michael Cooper -- 280 -- Creighton Honeck Jamie Kellam -- 281 -- Grady Bruce -- 283 -- Stephen Paterson Josh Luongo Phil Thomas
