CABOT, AR (June 13, 2010)--Austin Cook of Jonesboro fired a final round of two-under par 70 to win the 96th ASGA Men’s Stroke Play Championship at Greystone’s Cypress Creek Course. His 12-under par total of 212 – 68-66-70 was good enough for a five-stroke victory over Joe Doramus of Little Rock (71-70-68) and Wes McNulty of Pine Bluff (73-70-66).
McNulty, the 2008 and 2009 Champion had the low round of the day with a six-under par 66. Both Cook and Doramus play for the Razorbacks. Jeff Jenkins of Conway was 4th (76-65-69) and Nick Wilson of Little Rock (72-71-68) and Nick Zimmerman of North Little Rock (71-71-69) tied for 5th at 211.
Mike Majkowski of Maumelle won the 2nd ASGA Mid-Senior Stroke Play with scores of 74-71-71 for an even par total of 216. Austin Franks of Little Rock finished a stroke back in second with 72-76-69 – 217 and the first and second round leader Todd Martin of Cabot finished third with 70-71-78 – 219.
The shot of the weekend belonged to Conway’s D.K. Kim during Saturday’s second round when he holed his second shot on the par-5 18th hole from 147 yards for a double eagle.
