Arizona State looking for fifth win of 2015 at host tournament

Two rounds in at the ASU Thunderbird Invitational, Jon Rahm and his Sun Devils are 14 shots ahead of the field

TEMPE, Ariz. — Arizona State's men's golf team has been red-hot all spring, winning four times already before their host event, the ASU Thunderbird Invitational. Now, 36 holes into the tournament, the Sun Devils are winning yet again, and this time by an overwhelming 14 shots. The two players who have led the squad all season, juniors Jon Rahm and Max Rottluff, are tied atop the individual leaderboard at nine-under par 131. Rahm, of Spain, went 65-64 at Karsten Golf Course while Rottluff, of Germany, posted 66-63. Second-place Baylor was led by their own international junior, Andreas Gjesteby of Norway. He carded 66-72 and is tied for fifth. The tournament will conclude on Saturday as the Sun Devils will look for their fifth victory of 2015.
