Antonio Murdaca takes control of slim lead at Asia-Pacific Amateur

Australia's Antonio Murdaca overtook his fellow countryman Todd Sinnott to hold a one-shot lead halfway through the Asia-Pacific Amateur

MELBOURNE, Australia (Oct. 24, 2014) — Australia's Royal Melbourne is making it easy for the natives to be near the top of the 2014 Asia-Pacific leaderboard. After 36 holes, Antonio Murdaca of Adelaide, South Australia, posted five-under 67 on Friday to overtake his fellow countryman, Todd Sinnott, by a shot. Sinnott, the first-round leader, led with his own 67 after day one but now sits alone in second place after a 71 on Friday. Overall, seven Australians are in the Top-15, including No. 1 ranked amateur in the world, Geoffrey Drakeford, who is seven shots back at even par. 2012 champion Guan Tianlang has posted 68-73 and is tied for fifth place, four shots back.
