ADELAIDE, Australia — Antonio Murdaca will be one of nine amateurs in the field at the 2015 Masters Tournament, by virtue of his victory in November at the Asia-Pacific Amateur. At Royal Adelaide Golf Club, Murdaca made great progress in preparing for his first major professional tournament with a seven-stroke win at the South Australia Amateur Classic.
Murdaca posted four consecutive under par rounds, finishing at 11-under par. His third-round 67 put him in the lead before his third two-under par round of 70 of the tournament secured his victory on Friday afternoon.
Brayden Petersen grabbed second place at four-under par 284. Petersen opened with 68, two better than the eventual winner on day one. He was three strokes ahead of third place finisher Douglas Klein, and five in front of fourth place Daniel Gale.
