Amateurs and Professionals finish in tie at Hudson Cup

Ten points apiece for the amateurs and pros while in the Senior Hudson Cup, the WSGA and OGA senior amateurs took home the title

TUALATIN, Ore. (Oct. 24, 2014) — On Thursday and Friday at Tualatin Country Club in Oregon, five amateurs from the Oregon Golf Association, as well as five from the Washington State Golf Association teamed up to face the 10 best PGA professionals from the Pacific Northwest Golf Association in the 66th running of the Hudson Cup Matches. This year's edition ended in a tie, with both teams concluding Friday's action with 10 of a total 20 points. In the Senior Hudson Cup, the amateurs defeated the professionals for the first time since 2003. As the matches concluded at Tualatin, the amateurs finished with 12.5 while the pros tallied 7.5. 2013 U.S. Senior Amateur runner-up Pat O'Donnell defeated Scott Krieger 2-and-1 in Friday's singles match while four-time Washington State Senior Amateur champion Tom Brandes suffered one of the few losses, falling to Rob Gibbons 2-and-1.
