HOLLISTER, CA (July 1, 2006) – UCLA young guns Matt Marshall and Brandon
Christianson stormed into the lead at today’s Monterey Peninsula Four-Ball
at San Juan Oaks Golf Club today with a round of 9-under-par 63.
“It worked
out well” said
Marshall, “I had a good run, and then my partner had a good run” (Partner
Christianson’s contribution included holing out from the fairway on No.
17 par 4 for an eagle 2.)
They will have their work cut out on Sunday - John Driver and Jason McHargue are hot on their heels (Driver had four birdies in a row at one time during the round today!) with a 64 and Darryl Donovan and Randy Haag ready to pounce after posting a 65, leaving them just two back of the lead.
Senior Division:-
Marco Dusi and Ken Webb lead the senior division at 7-under-par 65 and will be in the final pairing tomorrow with Mark Miller and David Goettsch, who shot
Net Division:-
Recently formed team of Gene House and Bill Strahan lead the Net Division with 65 and will work Sunday to keep at bay the four Net Division teams who are just two strokes back as 67.
