Aggie Invitational: Talented Oklahoma team finally gets first win of year

BRYAN, Texas — The ninth-ranked Oklahoma Sooners are finally champions in the 2014-2015 season, claiming the Aggie Invitational title in Texas on Easter Sunday.

The team captured victory despite not having a player finish inside of the top-five. Freshman Grant Hirschman posted the lowest number for the Sooners, rebounding from an opening-round 78 to shoot 71-72 in the last two rounds.

Texas Tech took second place while Arkansas grabbed third. Tech senior Matias Domingeuz, who will play in next week's Masters Tournament thanks to his Latin America Amateur win, tied for 13th place at seven- over 223.

Sophomore Hannes Ronneblad of Sweden and senior Esteban Restrepo of Colombia tied for seventh to lead the Red Raiders in their runner-up performance.

Individual honors went to California freshman KK Limbhasut, who picked up his first career win. The first-year player originally from Thailand, played high school golf for Redlands in Loma Linda, Calif. Limbhasut was the only player under par after 54 holes at Traditions Golf club, shooting 73-69 on day one and closing when even-par 72 on Sunday. He paced his Golden Bears to a seventh place finish.

Limbhasut is the reigning Western Junior champion, winning at Flossmoor Country Club in 2014 to win in come-from- behind fashion.
