AGC Livermore Valley - Cancelled Due to RAIN

A major storm has knocked out power to more than 500,000 people in the Bay Area, bringing heavy rain and high winds with it

LIVERMORE, Calif. (January 4, 2008) -- Due to the storm that has hit the Bay Area so hard, knocking out power to over 500,000 people, amateurgolf.com has cancelled this weekend's Livermore Valley Championship tournament in its entirety. Many factors were taken into account, and while the possibility of "squeezing in" one round exists, it would be at best on an extremely wet course with water in bunkers, muddy conditions, and more. Driving conditions in the area are deplorable, with many road closures and safety issues. Sunday's weather looks worse than Saturday. We will provide all players with a full credit to be applied to any amateurgolf.com event (even Bandon Dunes or Kiawah Island as a potential deposit payment) which does not expire. Like Tiger's "cuts made" record, our streak has come to an end at 300-plus tournament rounds without losing a single one to rain. It was a great run! For information on the amateurgolf.com Tournament Series, choose the "tournaments" button above and the option "amateurgolf.com Tournament Series" using the pulldown menu.
