56! Kentucky golfer shoots likely record round

Former Eastern Kentucky golfer Jesse Massie made 14 birdies, 3 pars and an eagle in his magical round

It's known that 59 is the magic number for golfers.

The magical 59 is sought after by the most elite of players and it's front-page news whenever a sub-60 card is signed.

Massie, playing the 6,540-yard, par-72 Glenmary Country Club in Louisville, shot a ridiculous 56 --- yes, you read that right, a 56!

Massie, who has been trying to make it in professional circuits, accumulated 14 birdies, three pars and an eagle in his potentially- record breaking round.

Massie told the Louisville Courier-Journal:

“Coming up 18 I said, ‘Nobody is going to believe this,’” Massie said. “I can’t even believe it.”
