Back-to-back 66s set the tone as Austin Fisher closes at 15-under to secure a two-shot win in testing desert conditions.
Austin Fisher of Scottsdale delivered a composed performance to capture the 9th AGA Championship, closing at 15-under 201 (66-66-69) to secure his first Arizona Golf Association major title at Aguila Golf Course.
Fisher set the tone early with back-to-back 66s and maintained control through the final round, where a steady 3-under 69 was enough to hold off a late push.
Fellow Scottsdale player Cory Bacon finished runner-up at 13-under 203 (67-67-69), while Cave Creek’s Cody Massa placed third at 12-under 204 (66-67-71).
The leaderboard tightened on the back nine, but Fisher stayed composed, playing it safe when needed and finishing with a crucial par save on the 18th to secure the win.
His victory was built on consistency, highlighted by 17 birdies and an eagle, while avoiding mistakes as conditions grew more difficult.
The opening two rounds were played in typical Arizona heat, but the final round brought wind gusts up to 25 mph, forcing players to control ball flight and adjust strategy. The par-3 16th proved the toughest hole of the week, while the par-5 fifth offered the most scoring chances.
Durango’s Levi Larson finished fourth at 11-under 205 (68-67-70). Two-time defending champion Chris Kamin of Phoenix, winner of the 2023 and 2024 editions, finished fifth at 10-under 206 (68-67-71) as he looked to complete a three-peat.
Kamin had entered the week as the player to beat after back-to-back titles, but despite another solid showing, he fell just short of extending his run.
The win marks a breakthrough moment for Fisher and opens the 2026 AGA major season with a performance defined by control, patience and timely execution.
