Iowa State placed three players inside the top 15 and led the field in key stats to secure a four-shot victory
Iowa State left little doubt at the MountainView Collegiate, producing a wire-to-wire performance to secure the team title for the second time in four years.
The No. 25 Cyclones finished at 20-under 844 (273-288-283), pulling clear of Texas Tech, which placed second at 16-under 848 (290-280-278). Host and defending champion Kansas State settled for sixth at even-par 864, 20 shots off the lead.
The victory adds to Iowa State’s growing history at the event. In 2023, the Cyclones set an NCAA record at the same tournament, posting a staggering 60-under 804—the lowest 54-hole team score in NCAA history.
This time, balance proved key. Iowa State placed three players inside the top 15, led by sophomore Nichakorn Pinprayoon, who finished T-4 at 7-under 209 (67-72-70). Senior Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn added a T-8 finish at 5-under 211 (71-73-67), while sophomore Alexandra Vidal closed T-11 at 4-under 212 (64-75-73).
Texas Tech found consolation in the individual title, as sophomore Denisa Vodickova of Czechia claimed her first collegiate win at 9-under 207 (71-67-69). She held off North Texas graduate student Malisone Chanthapanya (67-70-71) and Kansas State’s Jiauri Chen (70-72-68), who shared runner-up honors at 8-under 208.
Statistically, Iowa State separated itself on the scoring holes. The Cyclones led the field in par-4 scoring at 4-under—seven shots better than Texas Tech—and also topped the birdies chart with 54.
Individually, Pinprayoon led the field in par-5 scoring at 6-under, while teammate Pammy Chookaew shared the tournament lead in total pars (44) with San Diego State’s Kylie Phi.
