Gianna Singh wins the Women’s Championship 4&3 over Staci Pla, while Alexis Chu and Xiaolong Zhong claim division titles
Singh defeats medalist Staci Pla 4&3, while champions are crowned in the Inkster and Women’s Senior divisions at Harding Park.
Championship Sunday delivered a dramatic conclusion across the women’s divisions at TPC Harding Park.
After a week of qualifying and match play, three champions were crowned at the San Francisco City Championship, highlighted by a statement victory in the Women’s Championship.
The Women’s Championship final featured medalist Staci Pla (1) against surging No. 11 seed Gianna Singh—and it was Singh who controlled the match from the outset.
Singh built momentum early, winning multiple holes on the front nine to establish a lead she would not relinquish. Her steady ball-striking and composure under pressure kept Pla from mounting a sustained comeback.
Maintaining her advantage into the second 18, Singh closed out the match with a convincing 4&3 victory, capping one of the most impressive runs of the championship.
The win completes a breakthrough week for Singh, who defeated several top contenders—including Grace Gao (2)—on her way to the title.
The Inkster Division final saw Alexis Chu (14) deliver one of the most decisive performances of the day.
Facing Claire Zhong (5), Chu took control early and never allowed the match to tighten, winning holes in bunches and applying constant pressure.
She ultimately secured the championship with a dominant 7&6 victory, one of the largest margins across any division final this week.
Chu’s run through the bracket included multiple strong performances, but her final-round showing stood out as her most complete effort.
The Women’s Senior Championship provided a much tighter finish, with Xiaolong Zhong (1) and Lynne Cowan (3) battling throughout the match.
Both players traded momentum across the round, with neither able to create separation until the closing stretch.
Zhong ultimately held her nerve late, securing a 1-up victory to claim the Senior title.
The win caps a steady week for Zhong, who entered as the top seed and delivered under pressure when it mattered most.
The 2026 San Francisco City Championship once again highlighted the volatility and excitement of match play at Harding Park.
From Singh’s upset-driven run in the Women’s Championship to Chu’s dominant performance in the Inkster Flight and Zhong’s composure in the Senior division, each bracket told a different story.
Together, they showcased the depth and competitive spirit that continue to define one of amateur golf’s most historic championships.
