Amion shot 4-over to win by two shots over Maria Bastarrica
Cloe Amion, a University of Miami commit for Fall 2024 from Spain, shot 4-over 220 with rounds of 75-72-73 to win the Women’s Copa de Andalucia title at La Hacienda Links Golf Resort in Cadiz, Spain. The tournament, typically contested over 72 holes, was shortened to 54 holes due to heavy rains in its opening round.
Marria Bastarrica, a UTSA freshman, claimed the runner-up spot with a total of 6-over 222, posting rounds of 75-73-74 in the tournament. In close pursuit, Rocio Tejedo, committed to LSU for Fall 2024, secured the third position at 7-over par with scores of 76-72-75.
At the 2023 RA& Girls Amateur Championship, Amion finished No. 17 among all junior golfers. She is the 2023 U18 Spanish National Champion and has achieved a total of nine top-10 finishes in her career.
The tournament featured participation from 84 amateurs, of whom only 49 successfully made it through the 36-hole cut.
