Tennessee Open: Morrissey holds low am lead
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (May 21, 2014) -- Myles Morrissey shot even par 71 and is in a tie for fourth place after Round 1 of the 66th annual Tennessee State Open Championship at Belle Meade Country Club.
Morrissey is one shot up on Payne Denman, Brooks Thomas and Grant Hirschman in the race for low amateur.
Joshua Bevell, Garrett Willis and former U.S. Amateur Champion Steven Fox are all tied for the lead after opening-round 1-under 70s.
Other amateurs within three shots of the lead include Philip Lee, Danny Green and Ben Wolcott, who all shot 2-over 73 in Wednesday's first round.
